I’m not going to make much of an effort to gild this lilly, so here are the bare bones: the trailer for a soon to be released film entitled Age of the Dragons appeared on Slashfilm today and it’s a reimagining of Moby Dick, but with dragons. Pause for a second. Ok, want a little more? The film stars Danny Glover as mad ol’ Ahab, hellbent on finding and killing the White Dragon (see what they did there?) that disfigured his face and – I’m assuming – instilled in him a deep, fuming madness. Vinnie Jones is also along for this class thrill ride (he’s playing Starbuck, ha ha) which has been described by the executive producer as “Moby Dick with way more excitement, way more action.” [editor’s note: !!!!!!!!!!]

I’m personally holding out for the director’s cut which will feature six hours devoted to dragon taxonomy (wyrms, wyvrens, drakes, etc.) and methods of rendering dragon fat for use in spellcasting and home preserves.
